In order to properly tax each sale item, it is necessary to
confiure the system to reflect local state/provincial and federal
tax legislation.
Tax Rates:

ID: Enter a 3 character abbreviation to represent the tax.
This will be printed on the guest check next to the tax amount.

Number: Enter up to 10 digits representing the the tax account number.
This number will be printed on the guest check next to the tax amount.

Start Date: Enter the date the tax rate was introduced.

Base: Select either Net or Net+Tax:

Net: Taxes will be calculated on the value of the check.

Net+Tax: Taxes will be calculated on the sum of the net of the guest
check and the taxes previously calculated. Taxes are calculated in the
order they are presented on the screen above.

Status: Select if this tax is active for calculation purposes.

Rate: Enter the percentage of taxes to be charged.

DR: Select the Debit account to be used for accounting purposes.

CR: Select the Credit account to be used for accounting purposes.
Tax Setup:
Select the tax rates that apply to each of the sale categories.

Federal: Indicate the use of this tax.

Prov1: Indicate the use of this tax.

Prov2: Indicate the use of this tax.

Min Fed: Enter the minimum amount of net sales threshold before
Federal taxes are to be calculated.

Min Prov: Enter the minimum amount of net sales threshold before
Provincial taxes are to be calculated.
