Configuration options have been grouped into 10 sections. Each
option controls the look, feel and operation of the POS.
Store Name:
Description: Type the name of the store in this field. This file
will be used to title reports and various screens.
Display:
Display Type: This option is obsolete and is available for backward
compatibility with older software products.
Menu Size: The menu is normally displayed 24 items at a time.
You can increase this number to 68 by selecting this option. Increasing
the number of displayed items decreases the size of each menu item.
Guest Pad: If you prefer to enter the number of guests seated at
a table instead of letting the POS calculate this figure, select this feature.
When a table is opened a numeric key pad will prompt you for the number
of guests to be seated.
Takeout: If you wish to switch between dine orders and Takeout orders,
select this option. A take out button will appear on the screen and pressing
it will convert a dine order into a Takeout order. This will enable Takeout
printing on the invoice and preparation receipts.
Edit Instructions: Normally Menu Instructions appear as soon
as you select a menu item. If you wish to disable this feature and have
a button presented that will allow you to select instructions manually,
select this option.
Phone Pad: When placing a Takeout order the system usually requires
the Patron's phone number. To by pass the need to enter a phone number
select this option.
Screen Saver: This option is available for backward compatibility
with older software products.
Retail: If you are using the POS for retail purposes enable this
option.
Single Items: Normally the POS increments the quantity of like-items.
2 coffees appear as one line with a quantity of 2. If you wish each item
to appear on a separate line enable this option.
Fast Cash: Enabling this option will take a server directly
to the "Select Menu Items" screen. It will bypass the need to select "Place
order" and will by pass the need to select table. When an order is complete
the system will return you to the "select Menu Items" screen.
New View: This option is obsolete and is available for backward
compatibility with older software products.
Table View: Open ordersare normally presented in a list. Enable
this option to view open orders using their table numbers.
Reservation: Used to allow guest reservations to be placed from
the POS.
Inventory:
Inventory: Enable this option to activate the inventory system.
Threshold: Enable the display of a warning when inventory levels
drop below a sales items threshold.
System:
Data Storage: Invoice information is typically stored in Monthly
files. At the beginning of each month a new file is created. To decrease
the time required to access invoices the system can store data in weekly
or daily formats. Select the option that best suits your needs.
Accounting: Enable this option to activate General Ledger reporting.
No Security Pad: Normally the POS prompts a server for an access
code. Enable this option if you wish to replace to key pad with a list
of signed in servers
Security Pad.
No Security Pad, Just Server Names.
Move on Roll: When the system rolls the the working date (see
Limits below) you can have any open orders from the previous day
transfered to the current working day.
No Exit: To prevent a server from exiting an order without recording
the sale enable this option.
Delivery History: Enable this option to display the last order placed
by a delivery client when placing a new order.
Delivery Lookup: Enable this option to use the streets lookup
program when creating a new delivery patron.
Open Drawer: Enable this option to open the cash drawer when a bill
is closed.
Tables:
No Tables: Enable this option to bypass the need to use tables.
Tables Once: Enable this option to enforce the use of only one table
per invoice.
Table Pad: Enable this option if you wish a keypad to appear for
you to enter the working table number. Otherwise the tables menu will appear.
Sections On: Enable this option to activate the use of sections
setup. (See Sections Setup for more details.
Display: Table can be displayed in 1 of 3 formats. 24 tables at
a time, 48 tables at a time or a custom layout of tables for your restaurant.
The latter requires custom configuration of your system by Dineamix.
Select the option that best suits your needs.
Menus:
Default Menu: Enter the menu number from 1 to 50 to be used in the
absence of any other menu selections below.
Delivery: Enter the menu number to be used for Delivery Orders.
Fine Dine: Enter the menu number to be used for Orders.
Takeout: Enter the menu number to be used for Takeout Orders.
Fast Cash: Enter the menu number to be used for Fast Cash Orders.
Language:
1st: Select the first language to use when the POS starts.
2nd: Select an optional second language.
3rd: Select an optional third language.
Prep: Select the language to be used when printing preparation receipts.
Tracking:
Max. Prep: Enter the Maximum number of minutes that is acceptable
for an order to be prepared. When an order exceeds this number a warning
"Prep" ticket will be printed.
Max. Serve: Enter the Maximum number of minutes that is acceptable
for an order to be picked up for serving. When an order exceeds this number
a warning "Serve" ticket will be printed.
Max. Order: If the combination of "Prep" and "Serve" minutes exceeded
this number a warning "Order" ticket will be printed.
These options require pre tracking stations to be installed.
Payments:
Nickel Rounding: Round each item charge to the nearest nickel including
taxes.
No Payments: Do not use multiple payment types. Assume cash for
all transactions.
Coupons: Enable the use of coupons at a cashier's station.
Server:
Tips: Include tip management on cash out.
Percent: Use a fixed rate for calculating tips on sales.
Float: Enter the opening Cash Float value in dollars.
Limits:
Rollover: Enter the time that the store changes from working date
to another. This is normally the time the store closes. Enter the time
in 24 hour notation. i.e. 1500 is 3pm.
Purge: Enter the number of days a patron account can be inactive
before it can be removed from the system.
Working: Enter the number of seconds of inactivity before a station
exits to the access code prompt. Enter 0 to disable this feature.
Saver: Enter the number of seconds of inactivity before the screen
saver is started. Enter 0 to disable this feature.
Opening: Enter the hour in 24 hour notation that the store opens.
Closing: Enter the hour in 24 hour notation that the store closes.
Code: Enter the lehgth of the security code. Choose from 1 to 4
digits.
